About Nicole
"Sometimes, when you are in a dark place, you think you've been buried. But really you have been planted." – Christine Caine.
Nicole Kucera believes in creating a space where everyone can take a breath and be genuinely seen without judgment. She understands that therapy is not a linear process, but everyone can achieve their goals with respect, dignity, and support. Nicole uses a strength-based and client-centered approach, welcoming and encouraging collaboration throughout the therapy journey. Everyone can dream, feel connected, and thrive with bravery and perseverance.
Nicole holds a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Social Work and Leadership Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She employs various techniques, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Existential Therapy.
With five years of experience supporting individuals in her communities, Nicole has worked in various settings with diverse clients. She emphasizes personal empowerment and often brings a touch of sarcasm into the therapy space to create a relaxed and relatable environment.
When she's not at Foundations Counseling, you can find Nicole exploring Colorado, her new home after relocating from Illinois. She has a sense of adventure and loves hiking, reading, playing board games, skydiving, traveling, and caring for her plants.
At Foundations Counseling, we are committed to helping you transform challenges into opportunities for growth. Let Nicole Kucera's experience, empathetic approach, and dedication guide you to a healthier, happier life.
