About Amanda

We all desire to heal and thrive, but what makes healing possible? This question has been a driving force for Amanda Spanbauer throughout her life. Healing is in Amanda's DNA; her clients find her warmth, calm, and compassion profoundly nourishing. She believes in every person's innate capacity to heal, grow, and thrive, and she is dedicated to guiding them on this transformative journey.

Amanda Spanbauer is a National Certified Counselor with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Studio Arts from the University of Colorado Boulder. Amanda's therapeutic approach is eclectic and holistic, utilizing techniques from Compassion-Focused Therapy, Existential Psychology, Contemplative Psychologies, and Person-Centered Therapy.

For the past 20 years, Amanda has dedicated herself to the Healing Arts, gaining a wealth of experience that shapes her integrated and holistic perspective on healing. The decisive role emotions and thoughts inspired her journey into counseling play in the healing process. This realization led her to pursue a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where she further developed her skills and therapeutic approach.

Amanda's lifelong passion for art adds a unique dimension to her practice. She loves incorporating creative elements into therapy, providing clients with additional tools for self-expression and healing. When she's not at Foundations Counseling, Amanda enjoys creating art, exploring nature, and continuously expanding her knowledge in the field of mental health.
